I noticed yesterday while testing on a external computer that the game was not functioning as intended.  Every planet was max difficulty and there were no lines or fuel indications on the galaxy screen. This turned out to be caused by building for windows from  linux. Im not sure why but performing the build on windows solves the issue :/
